Clean Room Supervisor
We are seeking a key additional team member to oversee the smooth running of our busy Clean Room.
The ideal candidate will have had extensive experience of frame assembly and conservation/museum level mounting and handing of artworks.
Previous supervisory experience preferred, with a positive attitude and ability to motivate and organise a small team through frequent deadlines while maintaining quality.
An informed understanding of frame design and construction useful but not essential.
Including the supervisor the current clean room team will consist of four people with the expectation for growth in the near future.
The role will report directly to the Director who is closely involved with all framing processes and with support from our dedicated office manager.
The Clean Room Supervisor is responsible for ensuring smooth running of the Clean Room by:
. being involved in mounting of artwork and assembly of frames through to completion.
. monitoring and editing of our live spreadsheet-based worksheet and observing and acting-on upcoming deadlines.
. communicating with workshop and admin departments to ensure smooth and consistent workflow.
. delegating mounting and assembly tasks to other technicians and supporting where advice is needed.
. cutting mounts using a cmc mount cutter.
. undertaking dry mounting and hot press mounting of substrates.
. assessing and maintaining stock levels for relevant materials.
. maintaining the Clean Room as a clean, tidy, safe and presentable working environment.
. quality control of completed orders and wrapping for storage and dispatch
Additional desired skills:
. We are also in the process of developing our dry mounting facilities and are interested to talk to a candidate with relevant knowledge and experience and an interest in dry mounting.
. Occasional assistance with off-site installations and relevant experience.
. Natural customer relations with a willingness to help with consultations where needed.
The role will be a full-time permanent position based at our workshop in Lower Sydenham, SE26 and is currently Monday to Friday, with options for overtime.

Frame Workshop Technician
We are seeking an additional team member to join our busy frame-making workshop. The ideal candidate will have had a minimum of 1 years framing or wood-working experience with a keen interest and desire to expand skills and knowledge through on-the-job training.
The role will be based at our workshop in Lower Sydenham and will report to our Workshop Supervisor.
On-site we build-to-order bespoke timber picture frames that are hand-finished and spray-finished in house to museum standards for exhibition and private collections for an array of artwork and objects.
We use a range of joinery techniques and relevant machinery including router cutter, mitre saw, panel saw, band saw, planer, underpinner, sander. And we use several different glazing and backing materials cut using wall mounted equipment.
Primary duties of the Frame Workshop Technician will be to support our existing team by:
. sanding
. glass and board cutting
. frame cutting and joining
. undertaking general workshop maintenance/housekeeping
. unloading and stacking of materials.
. bringing a positive attitude and willingness to adapt to emerging challenges.
. bringing good communication skills, positive energy and strong work ethic.
Additional desired skills:
. Other framing or workshop experience may be of interest where supporting our clean room or installation teams is possible.
. More developed knowledge of joinery and/or wood finishes. As mentioned we do spray finish in-house and will be pleased to hear from a candidate with relevant experience.
